Linux Kernel Software Test Engineer!

This is software test engineer position. Candidate will participate in a project team of engineers involved in SW Linux kernel testing, design and development test requirements and automation test scripts of OS and Infrastructure software such as File System, processes, Inter-Process Communication, and Memory Management and other related areas.
Requires use of a strong background in SW Testing, Champion new improved design methodologies, documentation and implementation including unit, performance, scale and system software independently tested after specification of platform requirements and solve system wide problems, and apply extensive experience in RTOS(Real Time Operating System) infrastructure and knowledge of OS internals, file system, Memory and other related areas. Define Reliability, Availability, Serviceability (RAS) goals for products.

Understand advanced testing architecture principles and design practices. Understand advanced datacom concepts. Superior fault analysis and testing skills. Initiates informal reviews of ideas and technical objectives within and across business units. Work is performed with minimal supervision. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Completed work is reviewed by internal team, cross functional teams, and management.
Ability to plan large projects and take a lead role, mentor junior member in the testing team and participate in project test team for the SW release, including building the software, coordinating with other departments, and participating in scheduling (from conception to testing). Demonstrate ability to successfully influence win-win cross-functional dynamics. Resolves conflicts by fostering team communications. Provides technical guidance to small teams. Takes ownership for initiatives Solve Problems & Make Decisions. Demonstrate Leadership. Establish Plans. Think Globally. Dedication to Customer Success. Act as the technical expert for team component areas and assigned projects.
Experience testing UNIX systems, including Linux kernel, HP-UX, and Solaris using X-windows and shell environments is required. Cisco's tools such as Clear case, GDB highly desirable. IOS and/or Linux experience desired.

Typically requires MSEE/CS combined with 5-7 years of related experience, or BSEE/CS combined with 7-10+ yrs related experience.
