Can I be notified when new content is posted to KernelTrap?

Yes, a notification is mailed daily to users that have configured their accounts to do this.

To receive a daily notification email, login to your account then from your user page click the "my notify settings" tab.

KernelTrap can be configured to send you any combination of the following:
- titles of new stories
- full content of new stories
- new comments

Hi,
I dont know why but the http://kerneltrap.org/notify page give me a KernelTrap error: "Page not found" :(

new path

That path no longer works. I have updated the documentation above to reflect the fact that notifications are now configured from the "my notify settings" tab on your user account page.

Thanks...

Can I get notified whenever a specific user puts new content?

I would like to monitor only an specific user (yes, Jeremy) and get the content of its posts sent by email, though I couldn't find a way to accomplish this.
Could it be done?
P.s.: I was a Kernel Traffic fan and I am looking for some substitute...

This is not possible at this time. The best you can do is "track" a user, such as here.

I'm waiting on some theme work, at which point I plan to update the code running KernelTrap. At that time, I think you'd be able to subscribe to the above data via RSS. Still not what you're requesting, but better.

Can not turn notify off

Currently neither the notify link at the bottom of the notify emails (http://kerneltrap.org/user/12528/notify), nor the 'notify tab' detailed above seem to exist :-(
I'm trying to turn off news notifications, but can find no way to do that at present. I'm presuming that they can therefore neither be turned on!

I have restored this functionality. Go to "My account >> My notification settings" to configure.

This tab still was not found.

Jeremy:
The "notification" configuration page was not found in my account setting.
Also, I had tried the page "http://kerneltrap.org/user/16219/notify", but the server told me "Access denied".

My bad -- thanks for pointing that out. You should now be able to access the notification page (and it should show up on your account page). Sorry for the hassle.

Having changed my email, I could not receive periodic emails

Jeremy:
Three days ago, I have changed "my email address" in "my account" page.
After that, I did not receive new periodic emails.
Can you help me out of this?
Thanks and Regards.

Reviewing the mail logs, I see that notification has been successfully sent to the specified address two days in a row now, on both September 3'rd and September 4'th. Please verify that you have entered the correct email address. If the address is correct, check that gmail isn't flagging the email as spam.

It works well.

Thank you.
I had changed muttrc so that I misread mails.

http://kerneltrap.org/user/register:
Access denied
You are not authorized to access this page.
---
I wanted to register on the site, but when I goto the registration page, I get a "normal" page (with kernal trap logo/banner at top), but get an access denied message.

Um...is registration limited to kabal members or something? :-)
bummer.

Seriously, wazzup? Maybe registering is limited to registered members? ;^/
