Add ext2 inode field

Hi everybody.

I've a simple question that requires a difficult answer (I think);
My target is to add some attributes to the files managed by ext2 filesystem.
i would like to add one or more fields to the definition of inode of the ext2 filesystem.

i know that this is a big work: i'll have to modify structures (general inode, iattr, ext2_inode, ecc ecc) and functions in vfs.

my question: is there documentation about this "project"? is there a guide, a site, a forum thread or someone that can tell me what's the right way?

thanks a lot.
