DRBD is a very nice solution for some cluster environments. It doesn't require high cost SAN shared disks. And it has fencing capabilities (i.e. even if cluster software fails, data cannot be written in both nodes at the same time).
I was working in a low cost cluster prototype some months ago. And DRBD was the way to go. I tried the 0.7.x branch. I found no problem at all.
It would be good news if it's merged in Linux kernel.
